I Love Heart Math!

Heart Math is a company dedicated to “helping us live healthier, happier and more fulfilling lives”.

The services and products Heart Math offers, assist us in reducing stress, changing our reaction to stress, and balancing our emotions.

What’s not to love about an organization like that?

I am so proud to be affiliated with Heart Math and it’s noble causes.

Here are three reasons why I love Heart Math:

  1. The Institute of Heart Math is a non-profit organization that has been on the forefront of stress research for more than twenty years.
  2. Heart Math offers a number of excellent biofeedback tools for home and office.  They are fun, easy to use, and affordable.  Heart Math biofeedback instruments provide you with valuable information about your health and well-being.  You will learn how to improve levels and track progress.  Please visit the store and you will see an icon that will direct you to Heart Math products.
  3. One of my very favorite things about Heart Math is their commitment to health education and ongoing individual and group support.  Heart Math provides information and support so we can all live healthier lives.

Recently, I was reminded of one of Heart Math’s Self-Help tools, so I thought I’d pass it along to you.

The Neutral Tool

The purpose of the Neutral Tool is to provide a simple straight forward way to take a time out, step back from both thoughts racing through your mind and negative emotions.

Here’s how to do it:

  • Take a time out.  You can even say to yourself, “time out”.  Try to disengage from negative, stressful thoughts and feelings.  Just observe, without reacting.  When you take a time out, step back and just observe.
  • Shift your focus to the area around your heart.  Imagine and feel your breath moving through your heart.  Breathe and stay in this “heart-space”.
  • Tell yourself, “Go to neutral”.  Breathe and stay in this neutral zone until negative feelings and racing thoughts become quiet and disappear.

Try it.  It really does work.

These are the kind of brief techniques that can make a big difference in how you deal with stress on a daily basis.  Consistantly using techniques, such as the Neutral Tool, will help you promote your health and well-being.

Enough for now.

Take care,

Kate
